Pinescape is open source. You can use the Stand Generator below to make custom maps, or make your own complete modification by modifying our source code.

Stand Generator

Generate a simulated longleaf pine stand and download it as a CSV ready to load into Pinescape:

Stand Area (Acres)

Density, QMD, and Basal Area are mathematically linked. Edit any two and the third recalculates automatically — whichever one you haven't touched most recently. Values are approximate due to randomization.

Non-interactive, does not count toward stand density.

Random Seed

Blank by default, so every stand is different. Enter a number to reproduce the same stand again later.

Loading Your Stand Into Pinescape

Drag and drop the downloaded CSV into the SavedData/Local folder inside your Pinescape install directory, then choose "Load Session" in-game. Pinescape loads the first CSV alphabetically in that folder, so keep just one stand in there at a time. See the Getting Started guide for the full walkthrough.
